Bis Juni 2025 wusste ich nicht einmal, dass ich Bücher schreiben kann.
Meine Frau hat auf Facebook eine Malgruppe, die im April 2025 mit knapp 200 Mitgliedern noch recht klein war. Sie hatte die Idee, dass sie für diese Malgruppe ein Maskottchen möchte. Also wurden alle Mitglieder aufgefordert, einen Vorschlag einzureichen und eine passende Zeichnung dazu.
Mein Vorschlag war die kleine Malmaus, die dann auch von den meisten Mitgliedern gewählt wurde. Sie erhielt später den Namen Fips, ebenfalls durch Abstimmung. Am dritten Mai war es so weit: Die kleine Malmaus Fips wurde in der Gruppe als Maskottchen präsentiert.
Das war der Startschuss.
Ich hatte die Idee, ein Kinderbuch mit zehn Geschichten in drei Sprachen zu veröffentlichen. Die Kurzgeschichten waren schnell geschrieben, das Buch fertiggestellt. Eine Online-Recherche hat jedoch ergeben, dass Fips rechtlich ein Problem werden könnte, also brauchten wir einen anderen Namen. Irgendwann kam ich auf die Idee, den Namen meines Wohnortes Albox mit „Albo“ abzukürzen – und somit wurde die Maus nach dem Ort Albox benannt.
Alles Weitere ist fast schon Geschichte.
Meine Frau meinte, ich wollte doch immer mal ein Buch schreiben, ob ich es nicht versuchen möchte. Das war die Geburtsstunde von Jack Edwards und der 25-teiligen Serie sowie von der Trilogie über den Reporter Johnny. Ab da war ich nicht mehr zu halten und habe nur noch geschrieben. Nicht rund um die Uhr, sondern immer so viel, wie ich Lust hatte. Aber die Zeit hat keine Bedeutung mehr, wenn ich schreibe.
Es ging alles rasend schnell und an einen Rekord habe ich anfangs gar nicht gedacht. Mit meinem Antrag beim RID (Rekord-Institut für Deutschland) und auch bei Guinness World Records bin ich jedoch gescheitert. Dort hat man jeweils zugegeben, dass diese Leistung zwar absolut zählbar ist, aber der Aufwand, alles zu prüfen, für sie viel zu hoch sei.
Wir werden sehen, wohin uns mein weiterer Weg führt. Ich habe immer noch riesigen Spaß am Schreiben – auch nach über 300 Büchern in zehn Monaten.

Cómo empezó todo
Hasta junio de 2025, ni siquiera sabía que podía escribir libros.
Mi esposa tiene un grupo de pintura en Facebook que en abril de 2025 aún era bastante pequeño, con apenas 200 miembros. Se le ocurrió la idea de que quería una mascota para este grupo de pintura. Por lo tanto, se invitó a todos los miembros a presentar una propuesta junto con un dibujo adecuado.
Mi propuesta fue el pequeño ratón pintor, que terminó siendo elegido por la mayoría de los miembros. Más tarde recibió el nombre de Fips, también por votación. El tres de mayo llegó el momento: el pequeño ratón pintor Fips fue presentado en el grupo como la mascota oficial.
Ese fue el pistoletazo de salida.
Tuve la idea de publicar un libro infantil con diez historias en tres idiomas. Las historias cortas se escribieron rápidamente y el libro se completó. Sin embargo, una investigación en línea reveló que el nombre Fips podría causar problemas legales, por lo que necesitábamos otro nombre. En algún momento se mi ocurrió la idea de abreviar el nombre de mi lugar de residencia, Albox, como „Albo“, y así el ratón recibió su nombre por la localidad de Albox.
Todo lo demás ya es casi historia.
Mi esposa me dijo que yo siempre había querido escribir un libro, y me preguntó si no quería intentarlo. Esa fue la hora del nacimiento de Jack Edwards y la serie de 25 volúmenes, así como de la trilogía sobre el reportero Johnny. A partir de ahí, ya no hubo quien me parara y no hice otra cosa que escribir. No las veinticuatro horas del día, sino siempre tanto como tenía ganas. Pero el tiempo deja de tener importancia cuando estoy escribiendo.
Todo sucedió a una velocidad vertiginosa y, al principio, ni siquiera pensé en un récord. Sin embargo, fracasé con mi solicitud ante el RID (Instituto de Récords de Alemania) y también ante Guinness World Records. En ambos lugares admitieron que este logro es absolutamente cuantificable, pero que el esfuerzo para verificarlo todo era demasiado alto para ellos.
Veremos a dónde nos lleva mi futuro camino. Sigo disfrutando muchísimo de la escritura, incluso después de más de 300 libros en diez meses.

How it all began
Until June 2025, I didn’t even know I could write books.
My wife has a painting group on Facebook, which was still quite small in April 2025 with barely 200 members. She had the idea that she wanted a mascot for this painting group. So, all members were asked to submit a suggestion and a matching drawing.
My suggestion was the little painting mouse, which was then chosen by the majority of the members. It was later named Fips, also by vote. On the third of May, the time had come: the little painting mouse Fips was presented to the group as their mascot.
That was the starting signal.
I had the idea to publish a children’s book with ten stories in three languages. The short stories were quickly written, and the book was completed. However, an online search revealed that Fips could become a legal issue, so we needed a different name. At some point, I came up with the idea of abbreviating the name of my hometown, Albox, to „Albo“ – and so the mouse was named after the town of Albox.
Everything else is almost history.
My wife mentioned that I had always wanted to write a book and asked if I wouldn’t like to give it a try. That was the birth of Jack Edwards and the 25-part series, as well as the trilogy about the reporter Johnny. From then on, there was no holding me back, and I did nothing but write. Not around the clock, but always as much as I felt like. But time loses all meaning when I write.
Everything happened at a breakneck pace, and at first, I didn’t even think about a record. However, I failed with my application to the RID (Record Institute for Germany) and also to Guinness World Records. Both sides admitted that this achievement is absolutely quantifiable, but the effort to verify everything was simply too high for them.
We will see where my future path leads us. I still have a lot of fun writing – even after more than 300 books in ten months.
